Another friend who wanted a cartoon of himself.

I had to do more sketches of him than of any other cartoon I had done of my friends.

This is the first one I tried to go with. But I soon discovered it wasn't leading to much.

This is the next try:

Color! Shadows! Lights! Action!

Since I love these Watercolor backgrounds, I did some more experimenting and I'm quite satisfied with the result. The colors didn't fit the character so well, so I tweaked them a little in Photoshop.

Here he is: Finalized and smiling... ish.

For this piece I used Scriptographer, a plugin for Adobe Illustrator for which I wrote a script that gives me better control over the thickness of stylus-drawn lines.
